Just behind its fascia plate includes options for two 120 mm or two 140 mm fan mounts. The case also includes a red LED 120 mm built-in fan in the front part which provides the case its rather colorful look.
Storage comes in the form of two cages for 5.25 optical drives and another cage for mounting 3 3.5 storage drives together with the two for utilizing 2.5 drives.
The case can accommodate Mini ITX, Micro ATX or ATX motherboards. Its PSU mount includes a dust filter mounted beneath it to maintain cleanliness inside and keep everything free from dust.
The filter can be drawn out even if the cabinet is operating. There is no presence of rubber grommets on its openings however, it does not have any sharp edges to it.
This is an indication that the company has pulled off an excellent design scheme for the control system that provides an overall balanced appearance and feel.
On the rear panel, you will see great wire management options and it can accommodate a nice build within. The motherboard back plate is removable thus it makes for easier ejection; users won’t have to pull out the entire motherboard if need be.
The graphics card clearance is unlimited since one can fit in any graphics card that’s sold in the market today but the second GTPU has a limit of around 11 inches or 280 mm. In case you want to use air coolers for the CPU, the case does have approximately 150 mm of clearance which can be overextended up to 155 mm due to the convex side panel.
The front fascia meanwhile has been fixed into thicker plastic grills which provide the entire ensemble an uncompromising appearance together with the red LED fan inside but at the same time, this set-up also provides a lot of air ventilation for the components inside.
The back features a non-removable sheet of dust filter which keeps dust away. You can take away the entire front panel easily and dust it every once in a while.
The back also features a pre-mounted 120 mm fan plus the company also provides a whopping seven expansion slots which include vented covers. They can be taken away by means of the outer screws. Lastly, it includes a PSU aperture that is capable of taking in regular ATX PSUs.
When it comes to performance, the case does pretty well. It provides excellent ventilation and its acoustics are nearly silent because of its great build quality.
The build quality further gets rid of any vibration plus the sufficient amount of dust filters help minimize the noise levels significantly.
There were customers who complained that the front fascia of the case does not have an appropriate dust filter. Some also complained that the bottom feet do not have any rubber padding to keep away vibrations.
The Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-02 Mid Tower Gaming Case (Amazon link) is the real deal when it comes to gaming PCs. It is highly recommended if you are thinking of building your own or upgrading your standard PC into one for gaming.
